Film Production
In 2020 Guardia Vieja has pivoted to investing in a film production offering focused on the development of web based docuseries, powered by the support of Patrons.
Casa Rajoria House Concert Series
After quite the hiatus, we are so excited to be started a new project featuring the Casa Rajoria House Concert Series. Although Guardia Vieja is taking a bit of a break with regard to Event Production our Founder Pooja Kumar remains deeply passionate about Tango itself and has started a private series of House Concerts featuring Contemporary Tango Musicians at her home Casa Rajoria. This series allows the Film Production side of Guardia Vieja to explore some new opportunities to collaborate with local videographers and editors, as we document the series. Please find below the first in the series featuring Duo Villarreal Crom:
Juntos de Nuevo
We are both immensely excited and (not going to lie) a little scared to be sharing this update, but we are here to ask y'all for a bit of help. As many of you know we have been working immensely hard with the dynamic duo at River Rat Films on a passion project over the course of the last year.
You have probably seen us at the Cleveland Tango Bowling Marathon, La Entrega Tango Marathon, or Cruzadito | Tango x Celebration conducting interviews and filming all the Tango happenings as we come back together.
While we have concluded our Filming phase of the documentary, we need your help to get through post-production! Please check out the campaign, and even if you don't have the funds, we have some other tips on how to help that we hope you will consider.
Your support would mean so much to us! For more info, check out the video below.
Virtual Vinyls & Wine
2020 was supposed to be a very different year for all of us. And while we took a fork in the road, we are starting to find our way back to some of our original ideas in a new way.
If you have been following along the Guardia Vieja journey, you know that in March 2020 we kicked off an event called Tango Vinyls & Wine, because we believe Tango is not just for the dancers. Tango has a deep and rich culture of music and most importantly socializing. This unique event was meant to bring people together through some of the more accessible mediums of Tango: music and conversation.
No matter where you were in your Tango journey, we hoped you would join us for a light weight introduction or a chance to dive into deeper discussions about Tango over a glass of wine!
While we managed to host one event in partnership with our amazing friends at Apt 115, March was the same month that COVID really came to town, and so it was also the last one we were able to host, for now. Well, we took some time to figure it out, but we took a lesson from Tango, and pivoted into a new direction: Virtual Vinyls & Wine!! We are taking the concept of the event and bringing it to you in the virtual format of a docuseries.
Interested in a screening of the docuseries?! Please contact us and we hope to partner with you on setting up a screening, soon!!
